How LGM Database works

Where to find LGM Database

You can access the tool directly from the LGM Database tab in the left sidebar of La Growth Machine.

How to segment effectively with LGM Database

Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Search for companies that match your ideal customer profile

You have three ways to start:

Option A Start with filters

Use advanced filters to define your ICP baseline :

  • Start with Keywords
You will get refined results for companies that include those keywords in their information / description

  • Location Headquarters

  • Industry

  • Company Size (employees)
    You can select multiple ranges

  • Founding date

  • Website Tags

  • Technologies

  • Specialties

Option B. Semantic search (recommended)

1) Describe what you are looking for in plain language.
Example: Show Me companies that: "make and sell ready-to-eat meals"

LGM database will understand your query and provide a list of leads that match.

2) Add Keywords filtering.

Semantic Search proposes relevant companies by analyzing their activity and public information. This works well most of the time, yet some companies can look “similar” on paper while still being off-target for your exact need.

To make your results more coherent, use the Keywords filter.

  • What it does: only returns companies whose description or activity contains the keyword you specify.

  • Why it matters: it forces an explicit match on the term that matters to you. This reduces “close but not relevant” results and makes the list more homogeneous.

  • When to use it:

    • When Semantic Search returns companies that feel too broad.

    • When you need a tight, consistent list for messaging.

Example:
You are looking for companies that “sell ready-to-eat meals”.
Add keywords like “ready-to-eat”, “meal prep”, “prepared meals” depending on your market language.

Option C. Lookalike Search (expand from a best-fit company)

If you already have a “perfect” customer or ideal prospect, use Lookalike Search to find similar companies based on their company’s activity, and continue your workflow in LGM Database.

  • Pick a reference company (or paste its website URL).

  • Review the generated “activity” summary and adjust it if needed.

  • Launch the lookalike search to get a list of similar companies matching that description

  • Add Keywords filter to get more consistent. It will force a clear match on the term that matters to you.

  • Refine the search with the advanced filters.

  • Select the companies you want, then identify contacts and import them into an audience.

Step 2: Identify the right contacts within those companies

  • Add job titles to filter and find relevant contacts.

  • Use the location filter to ensure your audience is coherent.

  • Select the contacts that matter most to you.

Step 3: Launch your campaign

  • Import the selected contacts into a new audience or add them to an existing audience.

  • Before you create the audience, you can enrich the leads with verified emails + detailed profile data.
Just activate the enrich toggle option you want before you create the audience

  • Once your audience is ready, you can create a highly personalized campaign.

What is the difference between LGM Database and Lookalike Search?

Lookalike Search is a feature within the Database:

  • LGM Database helps you discover and segment companies based on your ICP using semantic search and filters.

  • Lookalike Search helps you expand from a reference company (client or ideal prospect) to find similar accounts, then activate them in your workflow.
