Overview

Summer holidays, Christmas breaks, or any other time off coming up? That usually means one thing: you’ll receive a lot more replies from your prospects. Unfortunately, most of them will be automatic Out Of Office (OOO) replies.

These messages aren’t real conversations, and treating them as such can stop your campaigns too early. The good news is that continuing your sequence when prospects are back from vacation significantly increases your chances of getting a genuine reply.

That’s exactly what Out Of Office detection in La Growth Machine is designed to handle.

Key benefits

  • Automatic detection of Out Of Office replies

  • Smart follow-up timing based on the prospect’s return date

  • Campaign continuity without manual effort

Automatic Out Of Office email detection

Starting from the Pro plan, La Growth Machine automatically detects Out Of Office emails.

When an incoming email is identified as an OOO reply, the prospect is automatically tagged as Out Of Office. In most cases, these messages mention not only the reason for the absence but also a return date.

The OOO detection feature analyzes the email content to extract this information. If a return date is found, it is displayed directly on the Overview page of your campaign.

Giving you clear visibility on when the prospect is expected to be back.

Automatic scheduling of next actions

By default, the automatic follow-up option is enabled. When an OOO reply is detected, the next actions in the sequence are automatically rescheduled to the prospect’s return date plus three days.

Why +3 days?

When people return from vacation, they usually start by sorting through their inbox and easing back into work. Waiting a little before following up helps maximize your chances of receiving a real response.

If no return date is found in the OOO email, the prospect is paused and tagged as Out Of Office. You can then decide manually when to resume the sequence.

How does it work?

Click on the prospect in the Overview tab and change their status from Pause to Resume.

Important: If you do not enable the automatic follow-up option, any prospect detected as OOO will simply be paused with the Out Of Office tag. You are then responsible for following up or moving them to another sequence if needed.

What about the Basic plan?

Since lead qualification is not available on the Basic plan, Out Of Office replies are treated like any other response.

This means the campaign will automatically stop for that prospect. If you want to reach out to them again later, you’ll need to add them to a new audience and/or create a new campaign to continue the conversation.
