Why does LGM not allow to include attached files in the email ?
It’s one of the bases of outbound: when you attach a file to your email, it is going to :
Make the email heavier, so it's going to take more time to be sent and then received.
And keep in mind that some email providers (i.e Outlook) have a maximum weight limit for emails!
Email providers are very suspicious when they detect that an email is sent with an attachment and they can decide to flag you as a spammer.
Why should you care?Being flagged as spammer impacts your domain deliverability: your emails won’t arrive in your leads’ inbox but in their spam box.
When emails are in the spam folder, they are not opened, not read, and not answered! So it will lower your conversion rate!
Last but not least, the golden rule in terms of prospection: always put yourself into your lead's shoes, would you open a file sent by someone you never heard of ?
Certainly not !
What is the way around to share files anyway ?
The safe and modern way to share files is to send a link on which your file will be stored.
Step 1: Import your file on a drive (Google Drive for instance) or share it on your website
Step 2: Make sure that everyone can have access to the file. You can decide which role you want to give to people with access: don’t allow them to edit the file, they should be viewers only!
Step 3: Copy the link.
Step 4: Paste it into your template!
👊 Now you can share files and maintain a high deliverability rate so you reach as many leads as possible!
