The "Lead Cleaning" feature helps you streamline your lead imports by ensuring that only the most relevant leads are kept. It filters out irrelevant contacts based on specific criteria from Sales Navigator, such as job title and industry, so you only focus on leads that truly match your search and are up-to-date, saving you time and improving your prospecting efficiency.

Why should I use Lead Cleaning?

When you search on Sales Navigator, LinkedIn includes all open job experiences from a profile, which can lead to irrelevant results. Lead Cleaning removes these false positives by keeping only the leads that truly match your criteria, based on the most recent job experience. This helps avoid responses like "I don’t hold that position anymore."

In the example below, Yoann de Pralormo has experience as a Sales Manager (still open) but is currently a Co-founder.

How does Lead Cleaning work?

Once activated, LGM reviews all your leads during the import process. Only those that match your Sales Navigator filters (only title and industry) are kept, while the rest are excluded. At the end of the import, you'll receive a CSV file explaining why certain leads were excluded.

What criteria are used to filter leads?

Lead Cleaning uses two main criteria:

  • Title: If you’re searching for "Sales Managers," only leads whose most recent job experience matches this exact title will be kept.

  • Industry: If you're looking for "Sales Managers" in the "Software Development" industry, LGM ensures the most recent job experience matches that sector.

Does Lead Cleaning work with all types of imports?

No. Lead Cleaning is only available for Sales Navigator imports. It does not work with Sales Navigator lists or other types of imports.

Can I recover excluded leads?

Yes, at the end of the import, a CSV file will automatically be available, detailing why certain leads were excluded. If needed, you can manually reintegrate them into your audience.

Is Lead Cleaning available for all users?

Audience Cleaning is available as a free trial for all users, but after the trial period, it is only accessible to PRO and ULTIMATE plan users.
