Overview

Do you share links in your emails and want to disable tracking to avoid damaging your domain’s reputation? Wise choice 😉
This article explains why link tracking is enabled by default, when you may want to turn it off, and how to do it in just a few clicks.

Key benefits

  • Domain protection to reduce spam risks

  • Full control over what you track (or don’t)

  • Quick setup with only a couple of clicks

Understand link tracking in emails

By default, as soon as you add a link to your emails, it is automatically tracked.

This tracking allows us to provide useful insights such as:

  • Your email click rate

  • The overall performance of your campaigns

These metrics can be valuable, but link tracking may also affect deliverability if your setup isn’t optimized.

Note: tracked links can sometimes trigger spam filters, especially if your domain isn’t properly protected.

Protect your domain reputation

To avoid spam issues while still tracking clicks, we strongly recommend enabling Custom Domain Tracking.

This helps you:

  • Use your own domain for tracked links

  • Protect your email reputation

  • Reduce suspicious signals for spam filters

Important: if click rate isn’t a metric you care about and you want zero risk, disabling link tracking entirely is a perfectly valid option.

Deactivate link tracking in your emails

Good news — it’s very simple.

Step 1: Disable tracking on the link

  • Click on the link directly in your email

  • Deactivate the Track link option

Step 2: Save your changes

  • Click Save to apply your changes

Step 3: Done

  • That’s it! The link is no longer tracked 🎉

Tip: you can disable tracking on specific links only, without affecting the rest of your email or campaign.

Understanding email open tracking

By default, email open tracking is automatically enabled in your campaigns.

This mechanism relies on a small invisible tracking pixel embedded in your emails. When an email is opened and images are loaded, the pixel is triggered and the open is recorded.

This tracking allows you to:

  • Measure your email open rate

  • Identify leads who appear to be engaged

  • Better analyze your campaign performance

  • Prioritize follow-ups based on detected activity

This data can be useful for guiding your prospecting efforts.

Important: many security systems (such as corporate firewalls, antivirus software, and advanced email filters) automatically scan incoming emails and may open emails and load images to check for potential threats.

As a result: you may see multiple opens for a single email sometimes, immediately after sending. These opens do not always reflect real engagement from the recipient.

Disabling open tracking

If you prefer not to use this data or want to limit tracking-related signals, you can disable open tracking at any time.

To disable open tracking:

  1. Open your campaign

  2. Click on the dropdown menu

  3. Go to the Content section

  4. Click on Settings

  5. Disable the "Open tracking" option

Once disabled, email opens will no longer be tracked for emails sent from this campaign.
