Overview

Wondering how to add an extra layer of personalization to your messages? HTML lets you go far beyond plain text. And when it comes to creating opportunities, building a real connection with your leads is key — let’s be honest, no one enjoys receiving a completely impersonal email.

By combining HTML with custom attributes in La Growth Machine, you can display a unique image for each prospect and bring your outreach to the next level.

Key benefits

  • Advanced personalization with dynamic images in emails

  • Higher engagement through more human, memorable messages

  • Maximum flexibility thanks to HTML and custom attributes

Quick reminder about custom attributes

If you want to send personalized images to your leads, using La Growth Machine’s custom attributes is mandatory.

Custom attributes allow you to attach specific data — such as an image URL — to each prospect. If you’re not familiar with how they work yet, we strongly recommend reading the dedicated article on how to use custom attributes before continuing.

Important: Without properly configured custom attributes, personalized images will not work.

Experimental feature warning

This feature is still experimental. We highly recommend testing it internally first, for example with a few teammates, before rolling it out at scale.

It also won’t work on LinkedIn Direct Messages without a third-party service, which we’ll explain a bit further down 😉.

Setting up your HTML and integrating it

To display a personalized image for each lead, you’ll need to use a simple HTML tag like the one below:

<img src="REPLACE_WITH_THE_URL_OF_YOUR_CUSTOM_IMAGE" alt="img" />

For each prospect, this tag must contain a unique image URL. In your CSV file, make sure to replace REPLACE_WITH_THE_URL_OF_YOUR_CUSTOM_IMAGE with the personalized URL for each lead.

You can use our template to generate the custom attribute that will store the image URL.

Once your list is ready, export it as a CSV file

And import it into La Growth Machine, making sure the column is correctly mapped to the right custom attribute.

Using personalized images in your templates

After the import, you can use this custom attribute directly in your campaign templates.

Simply insert the custom attribute into the message field of your campaign. When the message is sent, each prospect will automatically receive the image linked to their profile.

All that’s left to do is launch your campaign — your lead will receive an email with their personalized image, shown here with a GIF as an example.

LinkedIn link preview policy (Hyperise)

You might not know this, but it’s not possible to directly embed an image in a LinkedIn Direct Message. LinkedIn forces you to paste a link and then automatically generates a preview.

With GIFs, however, this preview won’t work on LinkedIn.

So does that mean personalized images on LinkedIn are impossible? Luckily, no.

What is Hyperise?

Hyperise is a SaaS solution that lets you create personalized links and generate previewable landing pages. These links can then be sent via email or LinkedIn while keeping a high level of personalization.

How to integrate Hyperise with La Growth Machine

Hyperise works by generating a URL that contains dynamic parameters used for personalization.

You simply need to configure a personalized link in Hyperise and use La Growth Machine’s custom variables to pass the required data.

This allows you to bypass LinkedIn’s limitations while still sending personalized visual content at scale.
